Hi guys, last newsletter of this year 2K1 with news on wots happenin' with the orange up to and after the New Year. More of that laters… but firstly…. Thanx to everyone who made it to the last party Fri 2nd Nov @ depot - yep, it went ahead as planned & without a cancellation in sight! Thank F*. And Thank You of course for sticking with the program and showing your support after what ended up being four months without a club party since the birthday bash, not to mention the two consecutive cancellations of the first weeks in Sept. and Oct (down to the club and not us in both cases). So a big "Ta Very Much" to all you that made it to the re-scheduled free nite @ depot on Fri 12th Oct and Nov 2nd proper last. Anyway all that uncertainty of venues and the erratic nature of the way things have gone for us over the past few months should all be behind us now and we look forward to honouring our 'first Friday of the month policy' as of now on (acts of God and Man made errors excluded of course…).

All in all the free~one which the depot opened on (Fri 12th Oct) was good but lacked a lot of the usual A.O. feel (hey… keep your hands to yourself you…); really down to the fact the club had just barely opened its doors and things were a bit too unsettled for us to get our full production in. The music KICKED however with our guest Orange Peel fallin' in nicely with our rezzie~headies Fil Bray and Tigger. Adrenalin (who is now Eliot) did the honours taking us into the night whilst Keef was hi-tailing it in Helsinki, Finland playing and honing up the finer points for the return visit of Sasha F who I must say rocked the joint when he came to play on Nov 2nd. And I mean rocked the joint - rarely does the proverbial hat get taken off to a dj but that man had it… and boy did he give it ..both barrels smokin'… No need to say more, after all it was you guys who kept a comin' in what can only be described a sweaty deluge to shake his hand n'all.
The Loft upstairs at the depot, where we pack our Drum and Bass punch of an evenin' has pulled through with the addition to (Oct 12th) and replacement of (Nov 2nd) the sound system to something with a bit more umPH in it, and seeing as it all did so nicely last time we'll be making sure the right kit is in every time for your aural pleasure (ooh err..). Indeed DJs Dan (TUNA), X (HOG), Energy, Astro ( Midlands Underground fm) and Mood had no complaints and neither do we as long as those phat tunes keep on a comin'… ~ though the odd prod with a stick every so often I'm sure helps. Likewise the loft again hit the spot with the earlier gig appearance (free party ~ 12 Oct) of Shaolin (prosession), Benny & The Goat (Lifted), DJ Mistify (rushfm.com) and DJ Dedlock hosted exceptionally once again by the guy behind TUNA DJ DAN. All good stuff boys…!

Well I think I'm getting pretty bored with all this back slapping but I could not go without saying what a blast the live p.a. Dries & Casie were. Playing two half hour sets down in the Udder Marquee on the Nov 2nd party they brought a new sense of coool with a full on funked out mix incorporating live vocals, guitar and usual techy paraphernalia which all melted nicely with DJ DoubleVision and Theos. Unfortunately our other live performance of the night for the marquee, the Infinite Mantra Band, didn't make it so a thanks out to Daz for keeping things nicely afloat down there (on the decks that is…). With regard to Dries & Casie further info can be obtained by pinging on down to spoonitrecords.co.uk (cd's available on the A.O. stall). Grrreat…

So, what more to say then… well loads really (come on you can do it… just a few more paragraphs and you'll be able to say you've actually managed to read through and finish an Aura Orange newsletter…. Stamina & perseverance ~ need I say more). OK then here's the current and coming rather than past and last…….

We can officially announce that Aura Orange are holding a New Years Eve Party @ depot on Mon 31st Dec, 9.30 pm >> 6am ~ no dress code. (see flyer enclosed). There will be 500 advance tickets available @ the special price of £12 / N.U.S. and Aura Orange Members £15 on the door / everyone else £20 on the door.
It's a top form line up with A/O fave Sol Ray (e traxx/upfront mag), Jo Shiva (g.o.d./kinetec) and A/O residents Keef, Tigger, Fil. Oh yes, 8 hours of pure surface to air vinyl straight into 2K2 .
Just a quick note to introduce two new ticket outlets to our current list. Firstly we now have credit card bookings via TheTicketSellers and also we add a new ticket outlet with Depot Records (Piccadilly circus, B'ham). They will both be selling tickets for the NEW YEARS EVE event.
For all of you new members in the past few months you may not be aware that for £2.50 you can get yer mitts on all metal membership eye casts as; brooch / pendant / key ring with your membership number stamped on the back! You can use this as membership I.D. instead of your membership card to get a discount on entry to A.O. club nights if you haven't bought tickets in advance. We also sell Aura Orange Official T shirts @ £7 each …bargin!!, glow sticks (8 hour) and U.V. jewellery. You can find all of these very stylish items along with flyers and information at the Aura Orange membership stand/stall at the A.O. nights @ depot and at Atomic Jam @ the Q Club ~ side room ~ AMBIENT AURA ABSTRACT AGENDA; which incidentally we will be running for the NYE Atomic Jam as well as hosting our own Full On NYE party at the depot here in Wolverhampton.
