Aura Orange - News letter June '98

Big thanks to everyone who trekked out into the countryside (..and the fresh air dare I say…) this weekend to kick off the first of the Aura Orange Summer `98 'festy' weekenders ~ which are incidentally organised and put on in conjunction with the Underground sound system based in Telford. Thank you to everyone involved ~ Mark and the 'Underground' Crew and D.J.'s; Trance Orbital Crew and D.J.'s; the Spacehopper contingent Pascal and Si and of course all the other vinyl junkies including Elivate ~ James T. Kirk (..and no this is his real name..!); Ian Clarke et al (West End Bar) ~ Suck It And See) and M.F.I. (Dave, Stead, Duncan D.). And that's it as far as ' back slappin' goes.

Having just gotten over the last, the next is already being looked into! Solstice, falling 21st June, will hopefully be the next, and looking ahead to September 19th looks a possible for an 'End of Summer' Party. Exactly where, when and how will come later ~ keep a check on the Aura Orange web site http://195.92.23.28/ - which I'm informed is currently the largest and most up to date club site in the country - surprised?..I was..! Here we hope to be able to provide info (across the board) on the local, and not so local party scene ~ the free outdoor events kicking off all over and throughout this Summer being the focus for now. The Reclaim The Streets (R.T.S) after party on Sat May 9th proved to go down well! It carried on the R.T.S spirit nicely for a good 700 strong crowd. Nice one had by all…thanks to all the dee jays, Az*tech video jocks, the A.O. Crew for their time and skill in mustering up the 'tree' feel and the guys at Screamers for managing a beer promo!!..Top Job…
..for those that noticed…the advertised d.j.'s for the night, Chris Organic (Science Fiction) and Dave King (Astro Café) were in fact our very own vinyl junkies Tigger and Keef..Chris apparently couldn't find a car and no one could find Dave. So cheers guys for 'doin' the business' and bangin' it through the roof even on ya' day off'……Day off..Free lunch…whatever next..

Following up on our last blindin' gig at Dudley Student Union is the 'End of Term Party' on Fri June 12th with d.j.'s Aytch (welcome on board residento No 3…! Duncan Disorderly and Tigger (resident head..1) This time round we have a free-er hand with the music policy so expect to see Aura orange giving it the Full On..Flat Out…Fallin' Over..approach on this one! Come prepared…

Following on (..the following day) Sat June 13th is our very own 2nd Birthday Party @ Screamers, Worcester St., and W-ton.
As we intend to make this one a bit special and undoubtedly run over the usual 4am finish the member policy is strict. Dig out your membership cards - remember two bonafide guests can be signed in on the night per member ~ or call in at Mike Lloyds (W-ton town centre) tel. (box office) ~ 01902 42 39 39 ~ for membership to Aura Orange ~ which incidentally is Free and absolutely painless! Unlike most things ~ so get a grip and get it done…! Name, contact address / E-mail id, D.O.B and signature ~ that's all it takes on your part and your on! Pass on the info to those who normally wouldn't see this newsletter! TA.

Lastly to mention that Pro2Type will be over at Screamers July 25th & Sept. 12th. Tigger and Keef now being taken on board as residents by Mike and the guys there - d.j. Line-ups will of course vary so check particulars on the flier for any given night.
Atomic Jam are back at the Que Club Aug 22nd and Oct. 10th.

Ourselves, we'll be back @ Screamers August 1st and then Oct. 31st for a full on Halloween special…See ya..Cheers…
