AURA ORANGE NEWS LETTER No. 15 Oct '99

Howdy Doody Dowdy
Firstly just to say Hi to all you A/O regulars we saw out and about on the festy / free party summer circuit '99. A few of us made it into the line of totality for the Eclipse at various events…free, and otherwise…!…(shame about certain festivals' bankruptcy, but over pricing = under attendance…). Other A/O crew weekend jaunts have included resident heads Tigger, Keef and A/O regular Rubec (Escape from Samsara/Ultimate Orange) playing at an undisclosed location near Banbury - it was good to see the old motorway convoy shenanigans technique deployed successfully culminating in a very messy party..and "YES…we did make it back to Wolverhampton..thanx for worrying whoever you were!" Also we caught up with a happy little party in South Wales featuring A/O resident heads Paul Mason and Fil… and messy isn't even the word this time round… but wicked sets non the less.

Fil ..again… (he gets around..) could also be found (in a seedy corner no doubt) with those loverly Curfew chappies from Sheffield..TECHNO…TECHNO..TECHNO in the Yorkshire Dales!…and again at a warehouse party some weeks later. That's the spirit chaps !! Keep them parties a comin' …! Oooh err yes….

Full respect to those full on party people 'FoundNation', a recently organised motley lot from Coventry. They've hosted some wicked free parties over the summer…nice one guys - keep 'em comin' , hopefully next year we can all look to get something together along the lines of the Buildwas party weekender last year. Anyhow the more the merrier - well, or so they tell me at least…

Sat 9th Oct '99 for those who made it was an Aura Orange Full On.. Flat Out… Free Party.. at "the" warehouse (thankyou British Rail, or is it RailTrack ..?! ) with some totally awesome tunes spun out by res' heads Fil and DJ Dan, Fred (we never knew!!) John (Curfew) and John Broadhurst. Cheers to you, the crew and DJ's. Check web / grapevine for details of future parties - we're at http://www.az-tech.ndirect.co.uk/orange but will hopefully be switching to www.aura-orange.co.uk in the near future - if your surfing then check out both addresses; you have been warned… E-mail for now remains at aura@az-tech.ndirect.co.uk Oki ~ Doki. Lovely, lovely.

The last party @ Warped (Skate Park - B-ham Sat 24th July) was a resounding success. Thanx to the usual suspects - Tigger, Keef, Fil, Dan, Paul Mason and IndigoJo * (Phil Lane) for their continued support and full on effort 107% when the times are hard'n'lean. Orange Peel (Trance Central) banged it up with a long awaited set - we finally tied him down you know...oo…errr.! Cheers to Cosmo Naughty (nice Eclipse Party mate!!) and Clair upstairs; and not forgetting da.. daaa…..Mr Sam (you can warm us up any time!!) *And for your information our man Phil Lane has now 'deed poled' himself into non other than IndigoJo. You can check out all of his space-art tunes at peoplesound.com or go direct(er) to his own site at www.indigojo.freeuk.com or mail the man himself phil@lane6.freeserve.co.uk. Right that's enough of you matey…

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control (honest!) the parties @ Warped have been suspended until further notice - but we'll keep you posted as and when we get a venue! Hopefully the skate-park will pan out but in case any of you revellers out there are hiding away some party palace, just waiting to be used, then do tell… go on… For now with Screamers in W-ton looking very unlikely to re-open and the licensing difficulties at Warped we're a bit buggered in terms of a 'feel right' place to party in them there Winter months… so keep 'em peeled and let us know. One thing we can be definite about and that is that we'll be raving it up alongside Atomic Jam at the Que Club for the millennium (our second, Egypt's seventh; or so they tell me anyway..) - check out the flyers, we'll be doing it the Aura Orange way in the Chapel Bar - ease in with a few curvy tunes in the D&B genre before we go into free-fall and let the frequencies take over - yes, a white knuckle ride straight into Y2K - that's years not kilos……. Convergence @ Crash (London) on 8th Oct '99 Saw residents Tigger and Keef back2back (mmm) THEYROCKED! Tigger wowed the crowd with a wicked set @ Renes (Oldham) 21st Oct '99 and can be currently found in the studio re-mixing with the likes of his royal smokiness Howard Marks (we're not worthy)!!!!!!! Looking ahead to Fri 5th Nov @ The Imperial Gardens - London…see your favourite DJ Burn on the Bonfire of their Vanities (sorry got a bit carried away) at the Gemini Records launch. There's three Kickin' rooms where you can catch Aura Orange residents Keef, Tigger and Indigojo (The artist formerly known as Phil Lane) along side Mark Sinclair (Pendragon), Spencer Freeland (Frantic) and local Midlands talent Nilaesh. It's free (!!) B4 11 and £7 after with stalls/face painting/and live guitar by Fish! Gettin' there's no problemo - National Express do an hourly service from W ton and Digbeth @ £14.50 rtn. There's a mini-bus going from Walsall call Fish on 07712 860257 for details…or call 01902 832240 if you're interested in a mini bus from Wolves?? It'll cost about £20 ( wot with the distance to London an'all) but remember it's free to get in B4 11 and that would be guaranteed. Lots'a love A/O ~ Full On.. Flat Out… Fall Over..
