Aura
OrangeNews Letter No 27 ~ Sept 2001
Hiya
guys - well they do say the course of true love never did
run smooth so it's no wonder here we are again with a little
glitch in proceedings - but hey, what the f*, life just
wouldn't be interesting without it. So it's on this note
that we regrettably inform y'all that our next scheduled
gig Fri 7th Sept. @ depot (formerly the Canal Club) which
was in association with Torture Garden forming part of their
CD launch tour for 'Extreme Clubbing 4', is CANCELLED. Yep,
though we tried to relocate it to 'The Planet' Westbury
St. (just over the way - even going to the extent of amending
fliers to that effect - which some of you may have received
at the last Atomic Jam) we ended up with a dead end in all
directions as far as a local (and suitable) replacement
club venue was concerned ~ well, these things must be sent
to test us... eh?
So there you have it Fri 7th Sept. @ depot is cancelled.
Indeed the club will now re-open with Aura Orange there
at the helm on Friday 5th Oct. when officially it flings
open its doors & re-surfaces for this their opening
night !! New ownership, new management and most importantly
new security who'll be more in tune with where we're at
and more laid back reflecting the new ethos the depot brings
along with it.
Manning the main room decks will be the ever faithful A.O.
resedentés TIGGER, FIL BRAY & KEEF with guest
TONY KINETEC (Kinetec rec's/logic) not forgetting of course
ADRENALIN who'll be easing the whole roller-coaster into
motion taking charge of initial proceedings ..m'lord. Tuna's
D+B line up remains the same as the cancelled 7th Sept with
SHAOLIN, BENNY & The Goat, DJ MISTIFY, DJ DEADLOCK and
Resident DJ DAN - as does the "udder room's" laid
back 'n' funky policy with INDIGOJO, BOD, S.N.A.F.U. plus
the addition of DJ MASE. 10 >> 5am. Yee Haaa.
With
no gig now on the cards for September we've had a long n'
hard look at it (ooh err
and) and come to the opinion
it would be loverrly lovely to do one more outdoor jobby
before the year's up. Roll-On that Indian Summer. As always
keep 'em peeled as any info like that will be released on
the website and for those members for whom we have an e-mail
addr. or mobile No. you'll get any A.O. free party info
as a matter of course. Indeed for those of you who were
there at the last A.O. free party (Sat July 7th) deep in
them there woods thanks for all your support! It was a full
on.. flat out
fallin' over.. party in true A/O styleeeeeee!!
Bulldog
Bash Review: It was great, they loved us, we loved everybody
and we're hosting the whole of the Bulldog Bash Dance Tent
bigger and better next year - lookin' forward to it already.
Sol Ray shone, Oberon, Rubec, Orange Peel, Jo Shiva, Harry
Love ~ and our extra special home grown Keef, Tigger and
Fil Bray ~ keeping it fresh and driving. We hit that Aura
Orange nerve across all three full on nights there - and
it just kept on getting better ! A quick thanx for the daytime
DJ possie ~ including DJ Dan, S.N.A.F.U and the other bloke
(though that could have been a possible hallucination
but
thanks nonetheless).
DJ
Dan A.O. / Tuna resident is currently spinnin' the vinyl
in Prague (our man in The Czech Republic!)
Another A.O. resident out 'n' about is Fil Bray; you can
catch him @ Cohesion - Subway City on Fri 14th Sept '01.
(See flyer enclosed). And don't be forgetting WCR which
for the month of September will be broadcasting FM 106.6
(usually 1350 am) with Fil radiating those waves between
the hours of 6pm - 9pm of a Friday evening.
Also a new (and first design/print T-shirt by A.O.) is now
available on the A/O stall and @ Piranah Rec's (Salop St.
W ton) @ £7 each in sizes S, M, L, XL. T'riffic.
You
can catch the Aura Orange Ambient Agenda in the side room
@ Atomic Jam Sat 13th Oct '01 @ The Que Club (Corperation
St. B ham)
.the laid back 'n' funky alter orange
